Buckskin shirt or hoodie.

This article of gear is second to the leggings; however, the four-hide investment will last and make use of itself in short order. A hoodie or shirt will protect your skin or woven undershirt from leaning agagains trees, running or crashing through thick bramble, biting bugs of all kinds, and elbowing support on the ground and with breaking brush using your arm. I put mine on, and with the leggings, I truly feel indestructible when in the thick.

The hood must have a low cover to the eye brow to prevent the full head to the brow from bugg bits which can and often is a constant distracton.

The arms should have extened sections to cover the back of the hands, but not interfier with hand use. Rotating the hand is enough to shoo landing bugs.

My groin cover is long, along with my rump cover. Many times your bare or near-bare rump will be hitting the dirt full of cones, so consider a heavy leather for the rump flap. With my leggings, the groin and rump are usually nearly exposed except for light underwear, and my hoodie covers these further to protect from whacking, thrashing, and running bramble. Some protection from bugs provided from the attached groin and rump cover of my hoody, but in really bug awful areas I will employ some additional jean shorts, which can be self-made.

A light tie at the waist will cinch the looseness of the shirt's waist for increasing warmth.
