Keep dry in snowy or rainy conditions

A jacket with tight woven material is called for here.

Bucksin is also an outstanding outer layer in any and all conditions.

Layers will prevent the heat produced on your upper back from melting the accumulating snow on your outfit if the snow is falling.

Avoid puffy loose woven fabric in areas that cover you from the sky, like the head or shoulders.

This does not apply to hair or fur, which is perfect for shaking snow; fur wicks water and has the additional advantage of keeping your shoulders warm. The thickest fur will keep the heat of the shoulders away from the snow that falls on them, thus, your shoulders will stay dry. Fur also makes the best hats for snowy conditions - know that a fur hat that you have bought in the store however came from a fur farm (which are horrable places for the animals rased) and only 15% of furs sold on the market have come from trappers, whos animals caught in winter freeze to death in the trap. So always try to keep a fur and learn to tan it, which is simple and takes little time to do yourself.

Carry a stick through tight snow covered brush to bat the snow from the foliage ahead.

Don't, unless it will drop below zero c at night, worry too much about wet and rain. One day it rains, the next its sunny all day and will dry - this is especially true of smoked skins. Just get out there and get too it.
